August 2019 Pink and Main | 5 cards 1 kit

Today's video showcases 5 cards that I created with the August 2019 Pink and Main card kit. This kit was fruit and summer themed. The stamp-set included some fruit layering stamps and some cute fruity themed sentiments. The kit also included some rainbow pattern paper, tassels, sequins and shaped tag dies. This kit was a lot of fun to work with and was a nice way to complete my Summer 2019 cards.

For today's cards, I created all of the fruit using various colored memento dewdrop inks. That's right, I didn't do any coloring! For all of the fruit, I actually used two shades of ink to give them some dimension. Check out my video down below to see how I gave these fruit some fun dimension, without coloring! It's also important to note that I used the colored 8.5 x 11 sheets of heavy weight card-stock that came in the kit to create my card bases. Unfortunately, this kit is sold out and Pink and Main doesn't sell the stamps or dies separately, so my supply list will be fairly small. However, I still wanted to post a blog for anyone who may have gotten this kit and wanted some inspiration. For those of you who missed out on this kit, I will link to a similar fruit layering stamp-set by Sunny Studios. Thanks for stopping by, and let me know which card was your favorite!

Card One

I love this bright fruity neon card. I created this card with almost all the fruits that came in the stamp-set. I used them to frame my sentiment which reads, "Hello squeeze the day" I stamped the "squeeze the day" sentiment inside one of the label dies that came in the kit. The hello die cut was from the freebie stamp-set you get when you subscribe to the Pink and Main card kit. I stamped it onto some lime green card-stock. To give it some dimension, I added some green ink to the bottom of the hello. I decided to scatter a few die cut hearts to further draw the recipients eye towards the sentiment. I used a plaid pattern paper from the paper pad to add even more color to this card. I popped up the rectangle frame with foam tape, and adhered the stitched rectangle with glue.

Card Two

This bright summery card is one of my favorites. I used the scalloped circle die and the citrus slices to create some whimsical flowers! Who would have thought lemon slices look kind of like flower centers? I gave the flowers some green stems from strips of lime green card-stock. To make these flowers look more like flowers and not like lollipops, I decided to stamp a few leaves. The background of this card was made with orange honey and twisted citron distress oxide ink. I also stamped some rings in the background using the same inks. I'm really happy with these rings. It adds to the whimsical abstract look of this card. I made the sentiment with the same hello freebie stamp and die set. I white heat embossed "a happy" on a black card stock strip. I stamped the "hello" sentiment with yellow and orange ink. I stamped the outline hello with black ink. To add some dimension, I popped up the hello and my lemon flowers.

Card Three

Instead of creating another card, I thought it would be fun to create some Summer inspired tags! I die cut the tags from various colored card-stock and pattern papers from my stash. On the backs of the tags, I stamped all of the sentiments from the stamp-set. I stamped "squeeze the day" 4 times because I knew I'd be using a few different citrus images. On the front of the tags, I glued the fruits that coordinated with the sentiments. To give the tags another cute touch, I decided to thread through one of the small tassels that came in the kit for each tag. For most of the tags, I used the twine that came in the kit.

Card Four

It wouldn't be a 5 cards 1 kit video without at least one shaker card, and this kit definitely lend itself to creating them since it came with two sequin packs! I thought it would be fun to incorporate a mason jar as the shaker element on this card. I created the jar with a Jelly Bean Soup stamp-set. I fussy cut the jar and also the inside portion to create the shaker window. After that, I decided to give my jar a little color with some light blue markers. I then went around the entire jar with a black marker just to clean up my cutting lines. I popped up the jars lid with some foam tape. The sentiment was white heat embossed onto a black die cut circle, which was then adhered to the center of the jar. To make this look like a mason jar with lemonade inside it, I decided to use the yellow sequins that came in the kit as well as some of the orange sequins that came in the other sequin pack as my shaker bits. To finish the jar, I just added a few lemon slices and a whole lemon around the jar. I also gave it a fun orange straw. The card panel was created with various yellow pattern papers that came in the kit.

Card Five

Out of the five cards I created, I really felt that this apple card was the most eye catching. I love the bright fun Summer colors on this card. This card was very simple to create. I first cut three white Nina panels down to 4 x 1.25 inches. Then I took my distress oxide inks and colored the panels in red, yellow and green. To add some interest to the panels, I decided to add some water splatters to them. After everything was dry, I adhered my color coordinated apples to each panel. The center yellow apple showcases the sentiment, which I stamped and clear heat embossed with black ink. To finish the card, I decided to scatter a few of the rhinestones that came in the kit.
