The “Vintage Post Add-On Metal Craft Die” is an add-on die for the Birch Tree Tunnel Series. It is a good sized, traditional and old-fashioned add-on die set, which includes a beautiful old English style mailbox, which will be really cool if die-cut in red. There are pretty little “post” details included, as well as the post pick up schedule notification board and even little snow caps and tiny birds (one of which even carries a cute little letter in its beak). The mailbox has loads of pretty little details that you can either color or die cut and paper piece. Also included is an adorable puppy, dressed up in a beanie and a cute scarf that appears to be floating in the wind. You can build a beautiful little wintery scene within the Birch Tree or the Snowflake tunnels. There is one “glue tab wing” that looks like a cool country style snow capped farm fence, which would look super cool cut out of Kraft or brown card stock. All the little snow caps are included for all the little “wooden perches and fence panels” or you can just offset a white and a brown fence and let the white peak through as snow. You can add the included cardinals onto the fence posts or the birch trees for a pop of color (especially in order to carry the red mailbox forward). The tree line wings and mountain range wings (both sold separately) can also easily be combined in the background of the fence at two differing heights to create a tall alpine mountain scene. Consider to add some deer in the foreground, or Santa flying over the moon or even add some of the skyline houses behind the fence. Really the options are endless and everything mixes and matches very well (but those additional die sets are sold separately). Use the glue tabs on the fence post die cut to attach your panels onto the Birch Tree tunnel or to attach them to your favorite trifold design as well. There is also a short bridge included that is used to attach little images to the front row (for example a little snow hill. Some paper piecing/ paper layering is required to create some extra interest and dimension on your die cuts. The main images would also look pretty as a focal point on a standard flat A2 (4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch) notecard sized card or be a substantial addition to adorn your A7 (5 x 7 inch) sized cards. The add-on set is a great way to create interest in your tunnel cards by creating lovely scenes and these images are also a great size to use in combination with last year’s trifold cards as well.

Directions for metal craft die use:

1. Gently remove the metal craft die from it’s packaging
2. Using your favorite die-cutting machine, lay a piece of strong card-stock facing the sharp edges of the die and run the required “plate sandwich” through your machine (please note that different machines use different die-cutting sandwiches)
3. These dies are thin steel dies and they work in most available manual and automatic die cutting machines, such as your Vagabond, Cuttlebug, Gemini, Gemini junior, Spellbinder’s Platinum, Big Kick, Big Shot etc.
4. Dies work on different thin materials, including paper, cardstock, specialty foiled or glitter papers
