I want to introduce you to what we would consider an “essential die” - a “stash builder”, the kind of die that you never knew you needed and that you will now gravitate to all the time. This is a big die set, full of value - this is our new “Aquatic Plants” layering die sets. These are 100% addictive to make. You will find yourself looking for this die set all the time and well beyond this collection as you will find yourself looking for “just a little something to ground your project” or ”to fill this small little hole”. And if you own Scrappy Tails Crafts previous collections, our coastal collection, our wedding collection (think the beautiful swan lake) - rocks and plants can always be a nice filler or a way to bring another color into your project. While these were meant as aquatic plants, they for sure would look fabulous in a garden, along a trail or walk way and they don’t have to be in water.

The die set is very intricate and you will have many small layering pieces. Having a pair of tweezers nearby is definitely helpful, but the end result is so worth it. To make it easier for you, we have grouped together “like - colored” rocks or “like - colored” plants, so that you may cut them all out as one group. Then once you paper piece the individual groups together, you will have a nice array of complimentary colors in your project, but you will not have the same colored rocks or the exact same colored plants sitting next to each other. You can also choose how many different color combinations you want to use, for example for many of my cards, I used  3 gray stone/ boulder/rock colors and 2 brown stone/boulder/rock colors and since they are well dispersed on the final formations they are also nicely assorted but not next to each other on my final rock clusters. This was done intentionally to save you a little bit of time, while still giving you an amazing opportunity to create very realistic looking rock clusters. For example, the side of the rocks facing the water may be more brown because they were more exposed to moisture and moss, while the other side is a lighter shade of gray because it was mainly in the sunshine and did not get wet. You can also play with your light source that way, or think about sparkling rocks that reflect water in the moonlight, just by using a gray shimmer card stock and by adding a simple light yellow circle behind your waterfall to depict a full moon. 

This die set is very large and has so many different rocks and plants in all sizes and can definitely be used in conjunction with many other die sets that you own already, including tropical plant sets, palms, tropical flowers, tiki hut sets, beach sets, camping sets, mountain and vacationing sets, gardening sets. So many possibilities.

Directions for metal craft die use:

1. Gently remove the metal craft die from it’s packaging
2. Using your favorite die-cutting machine, lay a piece of strong card-stock facing the sharp edges of the die and run the required “plate sandwich” through your machine (please note that different machines use different die-cutting sandwiches)
3. These dies are thin steel dies and they work in most available manual and automatic die cutting machines, such as your Vagabond, Cuttlebug, Gemini, Gemini junior, Spellbinder’s Platinum, Big Kick, Big Shot etc.
4. Dies work on different thin materials, including paper, cardstock, specialty foiled or glitter papers
